FROM THE OFFICE OF THE MAYOR – CITY OF BROOKHAVEN

Mayor Cox

July 1, 2021

On behalf of the City of Brookhaven, I would like to extend a warm welcome as you explore the small-town Southern charm and hospitality of the place we call home. We are a vibrant, family-oriented community filled with rich heritage, architectural beauty, historic buildings, museums, scenic parks, and nearby hiking and bike trails. We invite you to stroll through our revitalized downtown area and enjoy unique dining and shopping experiences throughout our city.

Brookhaven is the ideal place to live, work and raise a family, and a wonderful area to visit. You always have a standing invitation to our fun year-round events, including the Downtown Jazzed Up Festival, Girls Night Out shopping experience, Brookstock Music Fest, Ole Brook Festival, outdoor concerts, art walks, farmers market, and so much more!

Brookhaven has a thriving economy and is fiscally sound. We offer ideal locations for new businesses and industry, excellent schools, a state-of-the-art medical center, municipal airport, freight rail system, and an Amtrack station. We are located in the center of the Interstate 55 and Highway 84 intersecting corridors, in close proximity to two community colleges, and home of the Mississippi School of the Arts and the Brookhaven Little Theatre.

We believe that Brookhaven is the best city in Mississippi and that people are our most valuable asset. Our continued growth can be attributed to a dedicated and visionary city government and staff, involved community members, committed businesses, and entrepreneurs working together to achieve common goals as we move Brookhaven forward for all residents and future generations.

Whether you plan to make Brookhaven your home, establish a business or are here for a weekend get-a-way, I am certain you’ll find you made the right choice. Brookhaven isn’t just another small town – it’s a Southern experience. We can’t wait to show you around our Home Seekers Paradise!
