What is the procedure for obtaining a permit for electrical service?

If the power has been off for 6 months or longer a permit must be obtained from the City Inspector; or, if work has been done that requires the service to be disconnected the City Inspector must inspect the work and a permit will be required.   Once a permit has been issued for electrical services, the City Inspector will fax the permit to the Electric Company.  Your electrical account number will be required before the permit can be issued.

NOTE: All electrical work performed must be done by a licensed electrician.

What is the procedure for obtaining a permit for gas services?

If the meter has been removed or the gas has been off for 6 months or longer a permit is required. You must first contact a licensed plumber to perform a pressure test to insure there are no leaks. Once the test has been performed, the plumber should contact the City Inspector to verify there are no leaks in the system.  Once this has been verified, the City Inspector will fax the permit to the gas company.

NOTE: All work performed must be done by a licensed plumber.
